Hatha is a general category of yoga, is gentle and slow movement and controlled breathing by calming the mind with meditation and relaxation. Hatha classes typically guide students through postures at a slower pace with more focus on how to do each pose correctly. Perfect for basic beginners and all levels.
On 1st Monday of each month, Yoga with weights
Based on Hatha yoga, this yoga with weights is a hybrid of two disciplines, yoga and body building.. Weights add another dimension to yoga; they stabilize the body and engage you more deeply into the yoga exercises. With the extra weights, yoga is more intense & dynamic and creates a balance of strength and flexibility, we recommend 1kg weights and addresses the needs of the body, the mind and the spirit.
Fusion yoga is a blend of all the different styles of yoga taught in the VaVa Yoga Studio. Space permitting, we combine barre work with fusion, which is a low impact strength practice that burns calories, improves and enhances muscle tone, flexibility, posture and confidence. Barre/fusion is a blend of disciplines from Qi gong, ballet, dance, functional strength and a body mind inspired movement. Perfect for all levels.
Yin Yoga is a slow paced style of passive postures, mostly done seated or laying down with very long holds. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine with objective of releasing tight fascia & muscle. It is a deeply relaxing style of yoga for all levels.
Chakra Yoga is held over a period of 7 weeks, on Mondays. It is a specific sequence of Yoga postures focusing on each of the 7 Chakras.
Chakra yoga is intended to maintain balance by aligning and cleansing the Chakras, and the magic of asanas and doing yoga is the perfect platform to enable us to tap into these energy channels.
Starting from Week 1 we focus on the Muladhara (Root Chakra) up to week 7, where we finish with the Sahasrara (Crown Chakra).
We do this 7 week sequence once a year.
Have fun with our dance classes. Join our international contemporary dance teacher from Cuba, Barbarito Montagne, with a combination of Salsa, Cubana, Latina, Bachata & Merengue, all for fun and exercise. Tuesday evenings.
