At VAVA Yoga, Salud y Bienestar, we believe that effective therapeutic care begins with understanding the individual. Every body is different, and the stresses, strains and physical challenges we experience change throughout our lives.
Whether you're experiencing muscular tension, stiffness, restricted movement or the physical effects of everyday stress, our range of complementary therapies offers different approaches to supporting your comfort, mobility and overall wellbeing.
Our aim is simple: to help you feel better in your body, move with greater ease and develop a more positive approach to caring for yourself.
Our therapeutic treatments draw upon a variety of techniques, including Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, thermotherapy and Red Light Therapy, alongside other complementary approaches to wellbeing.
Rather than assuming that one treatment suits everyone, we take time to listen, understand your concerns and help you explore the options most appropriate for your individual needs.
Some clients visit us for a particular concern, while others choose regular treatments as part of their ongoing self-care. Whatever brings you to VAVA, our focus is on providing thoughtful, personalised care in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Every treatment at VAVA begins with you. Your practitioner will take time to understand your concerns, discuss what you hope to achieve and explain the approach most appropriate for your individual needs. We encourage you to ask questions and share any relevant health information before your treatment begins.
Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
Depending on the treatment, your practitioner may use a combination of massage techniques, targeted pressure, stretching or specialised tools to work with muscles and surrounding soft tissues. Some techniques are gentle and soothing, while others involve deeper, more focused pressure. You may occasionally experience tenderness in areas of existing tension, but treatment should never feel unmanageably painful. Always tell your practitioner if something feels uncomfortable so the pressure or technique can be adjusted.
Thermotherapy — Warm Bamboo and Hot Stones
Our heat-based treatments use carefully warmed bamboo canes or smooth stones alongside therapeutic massage techniques. The warmth can help encourage muscular relaxation and make areas of tension more comfortable to work with. Temperature and pressure are monitored throughout your treatment, and you should always let your practitioner know if anything feels too warm.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release uses sustained, carefully directed pressure and gentle tissue manipulation to work with the fascia, the connective tissue surrounding muscles and other structures. It is generally performed without oils, allowing the practitioner to maintain appropriate contact with the tissues. The techniques may feel quite different from conventional massage, often involving slower, more focused movements.
Reflexology
Reflexology involves applying controlled pressure to specific areas of the feet, traditionally understood within reflexology practice as corresponding to different parts of the body. You will usually remain fully clothed apart from your footwear and socks. The pressure can be adapted to your comfort, and you may find the experience deeply calming.
Reiki and Energy-Based Therapies
Our energy-based therapies offer a quiet, non-invasive experience. You remain fully clothed, usually resting comfortably while your practitioner works with their hands near or, where appropriate and agreed, lightly on the body. These practices are intended to support relaxation and personal wellbeing rather than diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Your Comfort and Wellbeing
Throughout any treatment, your comfort, dignity and personal preferences remain our priority. Please tell us about any injuries, medical conditions, medications or other concerns that could affect your treatment. Your practitioner may recommend modifications or advise seeking medical guidance where appropriate.
Everyone responds differently to therapeutic care. Some people leave feeling relaxed, others feel refreshed or energised, and some may experience temporary tenderness following more focused bodywork. We encourage you to communicate openly with your practitioner so that your experience can be as comfortable and appropriate as possible.
People visit VAVA for many different reasons. Some are looking for support with muscular discomfort, stiffness or restricted movement, while others want to manage everyday stress, improve their sense of wellbeing or make regular self-care part of their lives.
Our complementary therapies offer a range of approaches that may help with these concerns, depending on your individual circumstances and the treatment chosen.
